Discover the journey of tannery A.Bühler

A.Buhler tannery production

The beginning

On May 22, 1945, nearing the end of World War II, the history of A. Bühler tannery started to be written. That was when Arminio Bühler, the company's founder, along with a few partners, started running two drums, processing leather with the help of two employees.

Overcoming is the key word

The few machines they had back then were driven by a gasogene-based Chevrolet Six motor. At the time, Arminio Bühler could not fathom that his hard work was giving rise to one of the largest and most traditional tanneries currently operating in the country. Today, after almost 80 years of intense modernization processes, the company Bühler has become a 27,000-square-meter industrial complex that employs about 400 people.

Highlighted for excellence

Today, over the course of almost 80 years of existence, A. Bühler has earned a prominent position by adapting itself to the needs of the market, striving for modern production and management systems - from the factory floor to the administration and sales areas -, for the excellence of its products and the respect with which it treats each customer, offering personalized and effective service, as well as meeting delivery deadlines.

Leather for shoes and upholstery

Due to the wide range of articles and the excellence of its products, A. Bühler is not only a traditional tannery for footwear and leather goods, but it also has a 5,000 square meter plant dedicated exclusively to the production of upholstery leather, supplying its articles for both the furniture and automotive markets.

Commitment to the environment

Furthermore, because of its respect for sustainable development, the tannery has obtained international certification from the British LWG (The Leather Working Group), winning the GOLD seal for its self-sustainable environmental practices within the Group's protocol.

At A. Buhler, every meter of leather produced is the outcome of hard work, the result of constant improvement over the years, and investments in research and development, culminating in the experience and reputation of those who deliver the excellence of their products to the most demanding international markets.

Strategic location

Located in southern Brazil, right in the middle of one of the largest leather and footwear-producing centers in the world, A. Bühler Tannery enjoys several relevant competitive advantages, such as the permanent availability of qualified labor, the close supply of leather from incredibly vast bovine herds, and the supply of internationally qualified raw materials.
